As 2016 draws to a close and Christmas is just weeks away, I once again find myself looking back across the last 12 months and being amazed at just how much has changed in my life since I started SimeWorld all those years ago.
Over the last 12 months a lot has stayed the same though. I am still working in St Helens and studying towards another Microsoft qualification, Joanne is still working in Education, and Matthew and Heather are still at College and School respectively. Joanne has achieved a fantastic qualification in Braille, and is hoping to add to that with a qualification in British Sign Language in 2017. Matthew is starting to put his Half Pear Studios website to use, as he learns the tools of his trade and starts to make short films for actual customers. Heather started her 2-year GCSE studies in September, so there are some serious studying hours to come there during 2017!
I finally treated myself to a DroidBox and we’ve got more than our money’s worth out of that, whether it be streamed TV shows, movies or football matches! It’s an awesome investment if you’re prepared to be patient and keep digging for working sources. When I’m not playing with gadgets I like making/fixing stuff, so my next project is going start with a 50cm square Ikea frame. Speaking of frames, Joanne and I started up Frame of Mine on Facebook to create bespoke frames for any occasion, and they seemed to have gone down very well so far. No chance of retiring on the profits just yet, but it might just cover a nice meal out for us both.
That’s about all for this year, so I wish you all the very best for 2017 – may it bring love and happiness to you and yours.
